Mary Scott has been defined by service to her nation, her family, her faith, and her clients.
She believes her life experience has prepared her to serve on the Alabama Board of
Education with the honor and integrity of a veteran, the love of law from her profession, the
understanding of the business community as a small business owner, and the heart and
compassion of a mother.

Mary Scott Hunter’s priorities for the Alabama Board of Education are:
• Traditional, rigorous education standards for K-12 and the two-year colleges.
• Workforce development to drive economic vitality.
• Maintaining and enhancing education initiatives during a funding crisis.

As a proud product of Alabama public education, Mary Scott also has a vested interest in
the strength of our education system with her first child in public kindergarten and her
younger two close behind. She is committed to making the right decisions for education in
District 8 and for the State of Alabama.
